A young man suspected in connection with the shooting of five people on Saturday on the campus of Virginia State University hid in a dormitory closet for more than 14 hours before being found and arrested, according to authorities. The suspect, identified as 19-year-old Camron Harris, was found in Seward Hall on VSU’s campus at 4pm, local police Lt James Lamb said. The shooting occurred at about 1.30am on Saturday. Harris, who is not enrolled at the university, was arrested in connection with the shooting.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, and authorities have not released any information about a possible motive. The five people who were shot are being treated for their injuries, and their conditions have not been released.
