Seven Short Prayers Under Thirty Seconds for the Day We need short prayers for busy days.
I remember a time when a woman came to me after a crusade service, her eyes filled with worry. She told me about her husband's illness, her children's struggles in school, and her own feelings of being overwhelmed. She said, "I want to pray, but I don't have much time." I have found in my own life that even in the busiest of days, a short prayer can bring peace and guidance. The Bible says, "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God" (Philippians 4:6).
A man once wrote to me, saying he was struggling to find time to pray in the morning. He would wake up late, rush to get ready, and head out the door without a moment to spare. I advised him to start with a simple prayer, like "Lord, I need your help today, guide me and give me wisdom." The Bible says, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him" (James 1:5). My friend, make no mistake, God is always willing to listen and help us, no matter how short our prayers may be.
I have found that short prayers can be a powerful way to stay connected with God throughout the day. A counselor I knew would pray, "Lord, give me patience and understanding," before each counseling session. The Bible says, "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need" (Hebrews 4:16). Christ is the answer to our needs, and even a brief prayer can bring us closer to Him.
A woman I met in Charlotte once told me that she would pray, "Lord, protect my family and keep them safe," every morning. She said it gave her peace and comfort throughout the day. The Bible says, "The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit" (Psalm 34:18). My friend, if you are feeling overwhelmed or struggling to find time to pray, remember that God is always near, and a short prayer can bring you closer to Him.
We all need short prayers for busy days, and I want to encourage you to start praying, even if it's just for a few seconds. The Bible says, "Pray without ceasing" (1 Thessalonians 5:17). This doesn't mean we have to pray for hours, but rather that we should be in constant communication with God. My friend, take a moment to pray, "Lord, I need your help and guidance, please give me wisdom and patience."
The Bible says, "And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart" (Jeremiah 29:13). If you search for God with all your heart, you will find Him, and He will guide you and give you peace. My friend, I want to leave you with a simple prayer that you can pray, "Dear Heavenly Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus Christ, please give me wisdom, patience, and guidance, help me to stay connected with you throughout the day, and bring me peace and comfort, through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen."
