Trump Administration Continues to Push for Blanche Confirmation

The Trump administration is continuing to push for the confirmation of acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, despite ongoing controversy surrounding the 'anti-weaponization' fund. President Trump has defended the fund, which has been a point of contention for Senators John Cornyn and Thom Tillis. The two lawmakers have refused to vote for Blanche until the DOJ puts into writing that aspects of the deal are not moving forward.

This statement was met with resistance from Tillis, who retweeted Trump's words and stated that the president had 'made it clear' that the fund 'is still alive.'

The president also went after Cornyn, stating that he would 'always feel that these victims of government abuse should be paid back for what they were forced to endure.' Cornyn re-shared a post that said it 'does not sound like citizen Trump has agreed to end the Fund.'

The White House has released a demand to confirm Blanche 'without delay,' along with a list of endorsements from law enforcement groups, former DOJ officials, and members of Congress. Meanwhile, attorneys for the president have announced that they will appeal a federal judge's order that blocked the settlement in the IRS suit against the government.
